Al McCready’s experience is in retail and distribution management consulting and technology planning and implementation.  He has worked in information systems specializing in supply chain retail since 1970.  He is an advisor to senior management at retail and distribution companies on topics such as corporate strategy, finance, information systems strategy, and technology planning. Before founding McCready Manigold Ray & Co., Mr. McCready was National Director of Retail and Distribution Industry Services and a Partner at the firm of Deloitte & Touche.  Prior to that, he was a Partner and National Director of Retail Consulting at Arthur Young & Co.


Al holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Theory and Corporate Governance.  Al has also served as an adjunct professor at two universities.  He serves on the Board of Directors of Sport Chalet Inc. (Nasdaq: SPCH), aCalifornia based sporting goods retailer, and sits on that board’s Audit and Governance Committees.

James Ray
’s experience is in enterprise retail and consumer direct marketing systems development in information technology management.  For half his professional career James has consulted to the retail industry, beginning his career working as a Senior Manager at Arthur Andersen and later as a Principal with Arthur Young & Co.  For the balance of his career, James worked as a senior IT executive for large retail chain stores and consumer direct marketing businesses.  In retail he was VP of Systems Development for Eckerd Drug and VP of Corporate Systems and Strategy Development for Staples.  In consumer direct he was CIO for Air Miles, prior to acquisition by Alliance Data Systems, and SVP/CIO at Upromise, prior to its acquisition by Sallie Mae.


James holds a general business degree (BBA) from the University of Georgia and a degree in international business from Nijenrode in the Netherlands.  He earned his Masters (MBA) from the University of Georgia.  He serves on an advisory board to Year Up and is an investor/advisor to Mall Networks and Flimp Media.  Read his LoyaltyCIO blog at WordPress.
